# AI Insights

> Data-driven analysis to improve your trading performance

AI Insights analyze your trading data and surface patterns that would be difficult to spot manually. Available on the **Pro plan** and during your **14-day free trial**.

## How AI Insights Work

Edge Analyzer's AI processes your trade history across all connected accounts. It looks for statistical patterns and presents findings in plain language with actionable recommendations.

## Types of Insights

### Session Performance

Analyzes your win rate and P\&L across the three major trading sessions — Asia, London, and New York — and identifies which session you perform best in.

> "Your New York session trades have a 34% higher win rate than Asia session trades. Consider focusing your trading on NY session."

### Hold Time Patterns

Identifies how trade duration affects your outcomes across four buckets: scalp (\<15 min), intraday (15–60 min), swing (1–8 hr), and position (8 hr+).

> "Your average hold time on losing trades is 4.2 minutes vs. 1.8 minutes on winners. Consider implementing tighter stop losses."

### Instrument Analysis

Finds which markets suit your trading style based on win rate, P\&L, and average hold time per instrument.

> "Your ES trades show consistent profitability with a 1.8 profit factor, while NQ trades are break-even at 1.0. ES appears to be your stronger instrument."

### Cross-Account Patterns

Looks for patterns across all your accounts and detects whether performance is consistent or heavily account-dependent.

> "Across all 5 accounts, your first trade of the day has a 65% win rate, while your fourth or later trades drop to 38%."

### Day of Week Performance

Breaks down your win rate and P\&L by weekday (Monday through Friday) and identifies your best and worst performing days.

> "Wednesday is your strongest trading day with a 62% win rate and \$1,240 average daily P\&L — nearly double your Monday performance."

### Time of Day Performance

Shows your performance by hour of the trading day (in Eastern Time, DST-aware) and highlights your most and least profitable windows.

> "Your 9–10 AM ET trades account for 40% of your total profits with a 67% win rate. Your 2–3 PM ET trades have a 38% win rate — consider avoiding that window."

### Streak Analysis

Tracks your win and loss streaks and detects tilt — a drop in win rate that occurs specifically after consecutive losses.

> "After 3 consecutive losses, your win rate drops from a 55% baseline to 32%. This tilt pattern suggests taking a break after back-to-back losses."

### Risk / Reward Analysis

Computes your profit factor, payoff ratio, and expectancy to show whether your strategy is mathematically sound.

> "Your profit factor is 1.6 with an average winner of $420 vs. average loser of $180. Your positive expectancy of \$68/trade means you're extracting edge consistently."

### Direction Bias

Compares your long vs. short performance and breaks down directional edge by instrument, so you know where your bias is working for — or against — you.

> "You win 61% of your long trades but only 44% of short trades. On NQ specifically, your short trades have never been net-profitable over 6 months."

### Overtrading Detection

Groups your trading days by how many trades you took and compares average daily P\&L across those groups to find your optimal daily trade count.

> "Your best days average 2–3 trades with a $580 avg P&L. On days with 6+ trades, your avg P&L drops to -$240. Consider setting a 3-trade daily limit."

### Monthly Performance

Shows your P\&L month by month and tracks how consistently you produce profitable months over time.

> "You've had 8 profitable months out of 10 total (80% consistency). Your worst month was -\$2,100 in January — primarily from 3 high-loss days."

## Insight Frequency

Insights are generated on a scheduled basis:

| Update Type | Timing |
| -------------- | ----------------------------------- |
| Daily insights | Nightly batch processing (2 AM UTC) |
| On-demand | Manual refresh (5-minute cooldown) |

Insights refresh as new trade data comes in, so recommendations stay current with your latest performance.

## Data Requirements

Each insight type requires a minimum amount of data before it activates:

| Insight | Minimum Requirement |
| -------------------------------- | --------------------------------- |
| All types | 5 trades in the group |
| Tilt detection (streak analysis) | 10 post-loss instances per bucket |
| Monthly performance | 2 distinct calendar months |
| Consistency score | 3 distinct calendar months |
| Overtrading detection | 5 trading days |

Insights with insufficient data are simply not shown — you'll never see a misleading pattern based on a handful of trades.

## Acting on Insights

Each insight card includes:

1. **The observation** — What the data shows
2. **The context** — Why this matters
3. **The recommendation** — A specific action to take

## Improving Your Insights

The more data you provide, the better your insights become:

### Trade More

More trades = more data = more accurate pattern detection. Insights improve significantly after 50+ trades.

### Journal Consistently

Link journal entries to trades and tag your setups and emotions. This gives the AI additional context for analysis.

### Use the Playbook

Tag trades with your playbook setups. The AI can then tell you which setups actually perform best based on data, not intuition.

### Connect All Accounts

Connect all your trading accounts so the AI can find cross-account patterns and provide holistic recommendations.
