Rithmic is the most common platform for prop firm traders. This guide walks you through connecting your Rithmic account.

Prerequisites

Before connecting, ensure you have:
  • Active Rithmic credentials from your prop firm
  • Your username (usually your email or a prop firm-assigned ID)
  • Your password
  • Knowledge of which broker you’re connecting to

Step-by-Step Connection

Navigate to Connections

Go to Connections in the sidebar and click Add Connection.

Select Rithmic

Choose Rithmic from the platform options.

Enter Connection Details

  • Connection Name: A friendly name (e.g., “Apex Funded Accounts”)
  • Username: Your Rithmic username
  • Password: Your Rithmic password
  • Broker: Select your broker from the dropdown

Connect

Click Connect and wait for authentication.

Verify Accounts

Once connected, your accounts will be automatically discovered. Navigate to Accounts to see them.

Most prop firms use the Rithmic Paper Trading server for evaluation and funded accounts. Live funded accounts may use different servers.

Multiple Accounts

A single Rithmic connection typically has access to multiple accounts:
  • Evaluation accounts
  • Funded accounts
  • PA (Personal Account) accounts
All accounts are automatically discovered and added to your Edge Analyzer dashboard.

Copy Trading with Rithmic

Rithmic connections support full copy trading functionality:
  • Real-time order detection
  • Instant order execution to followers
  • Position synchronization
  • Support for all order types (market, limit, stop)

Troubleshooting

  • Verify your username and password with your prop firm
  • Ensure you’re selecting the correct broker
  • Check if your account is still active
  • Rithmic servers may be under load during market open/close
  • Try again in a few minutes
  • Check Rithmic status for outages
  • New accounts may take a few minutes to appear
  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting
  • Contact your prop firm if accounts are missing
  • Rithmic limits concurrent sessions
  • Log out of other platforms (NinjaTrader, R|Trader, etc.)
  • Wait a few minutes before reconnecting

Best Practices

Use a descriptive connection name that identifies the prop firm or account type
Keep your credentials up to date - update Edge Analyzer if you change your password
Monitor connection status before placing trades, especially for copy trading
